Information We Collect

Depending on how you use NextWeekends, we may collect information such as:

• Your search location or destination.
• Experience preferences and selected categories.
• Travel radius, budget, and travel dates.
• Approximate location if you choose to enable location services.
• Basic browser, device, and technical information.
• Anonymous analytics about how the platform is used.
• If you choose to create a NextWeekends account: your email address and password. Discovering events, searching, and browsing NextWeekends never requires an account.
• If you choose to save an event to your account: information about that event (such as its name, date, and location) so it can be shown back to you later.

The information collected depends on the features you choose to use.

Account Information

Creating a NextWeekends account is optional. If you create one, we store the email address you provide and a password. Your password is never stored as plain text — it is converted using a one-way cryptographic hash before it is saved, so it cannot be recovered or read back, by us or anyone else, from what is stored.

Signing in issues a session that keeps you signed in on that device until you sign out or the session expires. You can sign out at any time from your account page.

If you choose to fill in your Weekend Profile, we store the answers you give on your account: the kinds of experiences you enjoy, how far you usually travel, and the total amount you usually spend on a weekend. Your starting location is kept as a city and state only, never your exact location. Every answer is optional, and you can change it at any time from your account.

If you save an event, that information is associated with your account and shown to you on your Saved Events page. Event details supplied by our event providers are removed automatically once those providers no longer permit us to retain them; you can also remove a saved event yourself at any time.

You can also save your car's fuel economy (miles per gallon) so gas estimates use it instead of the standard 25 mpg. It is used only to calculate the gas figures you see, and you can clear it at any time.

Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account from your account page. To confirm, you type DELETE and enter your password. Deleting removes your sign-in, saved events, Weekend Profile, home location, car fuel economy, and any venue claims you made. Emails waiting to be sent to you are cancelled, and your address is removed from our email records.

If you contributed to a venue's page (photos, events or edits), that content stays with the venue, and our internal record of who changed what keeps only a random account number, never your name or email. If you currently manage a venue, contact us first so the venue isn't left without a manager.

Sessions are stored on your devices, not on our servers, so we can't sign out your other devices instantly. A device that was signed in may still look signed in until it opens an account page, which signs it out; it can't see or change your data in the meantime, because that data no longer exists.

How We Use Your Information

We use information collected through NextWeekends to:

• Recommend relevant events and experiences.
• Calculate travel distance and estimated travel time.
• Provide weather-aware recommendations.
• Improve search quality and platform performance.
• Monitor system reliability and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop new features and improve the overall user experience.

Location Information

If you allow location access, NextWeekends may use your device's approximate or precise location to recommend nearby experiences and calculate travel distances.

Location sharing is optional and can be disabled at any time through your browser or device settings.

If you have an account, you may optionally save a home location — your city and state only, never your precise coordinates — so we can suggest nearby experiences without asking each time. You can change or remove your saved home location at any time from your account page.

Third-Party Services

NextWeekends works with trusted third-party providers to deliver event information, maps, weather data, restaurant information, attractions, hotel availability, and other travel-related content.

When you purchase tickets, reserve accommodations, or complete a booking, those transactions occur directly on the provider's website—not on NextWeekends. Their privacy policies and terms govern those transactions.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, improve performance, understand how the platform is used, and enhance your overall experience.

Your browser allows you to control or disable cookies, although doing so may affect certain features of the platform.

Analytics

We collect anonymous usage and performance information to understand how people use NextWeekends, identify technical issues, improve platform performance, and guide future development.

Analytics data is used in aggregate whenever practical and is not intended to personally identify individual users.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to help protect information collected through NextWeekends. While we strive to protect your information, no internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children's Privacy

NextWeekends is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

As NextWeekends continues to grow and introduce new features, this Privacy Policy may be updated. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
